A good day for

Funghi!
This is the walk to school.  They weren't there yesterday!

 And lichen

and spiders webs in the rain
And the day ended with a lovely sunset

I'm off now to go and make some Christmas cards.  I am trying to be organised this year.  It won't last!

This weekend

Goodness - it doesn't feel like Autumn - I think we've moved on to Winter.  It's cold, the rain is lashing down outside (I won't mention the indoor bits!) and its blowing a gale!

This weekend has involved a lot of this (not me I hasten to add - I just get to was the kit.  Lucky me!)

My god daughter was 18.  Goodness where has the time gone.  We shared her family celebration.

It was good to spend time with her mum - one of my oldest friends.  It's great that our children are friends too.

And finally this afternoon, after rugby trials, home to this.

The perfect end to the weekend.

Sundays

My Sundays will follow a similar pattern to today for the next few months.

Rugby and a roast at the end of the day.  (I'll gloss over the soaking and washing of the kit!)

A great start to the season - a win.  My boy made the starting line up - so I'm a proud mummy.  It rained before the match, and after, but very little during, so I was able to take lots of photos!  :)

There is something reassuring about the repetitive nature of our lives - although I do whinge on occasion.  But this week, the return to school, routine and rugby have felt good as the year moves on.

Wishing you a good week.

Yesterday

Maybe it was the last day of summer?

Almost, (but not quite!), too hot....

Sharing the school run with you

Empty playing fields before school starts

 Leaves starting to change
 I wonder who lives here?
Loving the simplicity of the grass heads in the early morning light
Back home and greated by Smudge

Conspicuous by her absence this morning.  Safely curled up in the dry!
Early morning cooling bath for the blackbird
A few bits of colour - often the second flush of colour

A rose outside my kitchen window

 A single pink

 Ripening apples.

Today it has rained - almost non stop.  Oh well - at least the ground will be a bit softer for rugby tomorrow.

Have great weekend.

A full week ahead

Monday

So before I tackled working in the office - a hot chocolate and large slice of homemade, choclate cake were needed!

Work didn't seem so bad after that!

I might have to work extra hard tomorrow!  This is our new toy - a new regime for the start of the new school year.

Night.

Sunday 1 September 2013

Last day of the school holidays

Matt is back at school now - so we are back to the manic routine it brings.  Particularly at the start of the school year.

However, Mum and I managed a wonderful, naughty slice of cake and a cuppa at some local gardens, the day before.  I would have shown you the cakes - we shared so we could try both - but I'm afraid I was so hungry, I'd eaten them before I realised!  We had an apple and rhubarb cake and a chocolate slice.  All cakes are hand made - and huge!  We will be going back.

However we didn't just go for the cake.  We really went here to look at plants, and for me to get some ideas for late summer colour to try and incorporate it in my own garden for next year.

It was beautiful.

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

The whole garden was alive with bees and butterflies.

A perfect last day of the Summer holidays.

Hope you've had a great weekend.
